On masonry buildings, caulk is used at expansion joints,
perimeter joints and areas where window frames and stoops
meet masonry. Caulk is more able to expand, contract,
and move than is mortar making it a better sealant for
these applications.
An open caulk joint allows unwelcome water into your
building and brickwork. It may also allow heated or
air-conditioned air to leak out. It may even provide
an entrance for unwanted insect pests. Inspection and
caulking should be considered as a part of regular maintenance
of your building to maintain its value and increase
its aesthetic appeal.
The choice of caulking material and the technique and
experience of the workman will make the difference between
a neat and effective job and a sloppy and inadequate
one. A.M.1's experience includes work on commercial,
governmental, industrial, institutional and residential
buildings. Dealing directly with the owner will save
you money and all work is guaranteed.
